About

Paul the owner of LSI started his building trades career in 1975. He worked as a carpenter for four years and completed a carpenters apprenticeship in commercial and residential building, attaining a journeyman carpenter status shortly after this. He framed and trimmed hundreds of homes in the Kalamazoo, Portage, and the greater Grand Rapids area, and worked on many commercial buildings over the years.

Paul started his apprenticeship and training for commercial and home inspections in 1998. The training was based in the standards of practice as published by the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). Paul then started his own inspection business, Lake State Inspection, LLC in 2001. The following is what LSI is all about and feels that each client deserves:

  • Friendliness is the most basic of all customer needs. You should never feel as an intrusion on a service provider’s work day.
  • Understanding and empathy. Customers need to feel that the service person understands and appreciates their circumstances and feelings. Customers have expectations, and we as service professionals need to put ourselves in your shoes, understanding that you have come to us in the first place.
  • Fairness. We all need to feel we are being treated fairly. No class distinction or prestigious should never be evident. You should never feel you are getting second best.
  • Control. Customers’ should have an impact on the way things turn out.
  • Options and alternatives. Customers should have alternative options on getting what they want accomplished.
  • Information. “Tell me, show me.” As a customer you should be educated and informed.

LSI offers a wide range of services to commercial and residential investors, homeowners, home buyers, real estate agents, and more.

  • Commercial and home inspections
  • Indoor Environmental Air Testing
  • Seamless Gutters
