Radon Testing

Radon Testing in Grand RapidsRadon is an invisible, radioactive gas created from natural deposits of uranium in the soil. Radon gas can be drawn into a building and accumulate to concentrations that can cause a health concern. Finding high levels of radon in the home has nothing to do with the age, quality, or upkeep of the home.

Lake State Inspection can accurately and reliably test for radon by use of our continuous radon monitors.

Continuous Radon Monitors (CRM) are used to provide our clients with hourly printouts of the radon concentrations, graphing of the results, and calculation of the average radon concentrations. Radon testing with CRM’s is performed primarily for real estate transactions and of course concerned homeowners.

We place the CRM, pick it up, and preform the analysis. Then either by email, fax, or other means we send the test results to the client. The minimum testing time is 48 hours and is performed by our professional and certified radon measurement specialists.

The CRM’s we use have anti-tampering features that indicate if there were any unusually conditions detected during radon testing.  Testing pricing can be found by clicking here.

Don’t despair if you find elevated radon concentrations! Reliable reduction techniques have been developed that will effectively control radon in buildings.
